TAYLOR DESPARS

Taylor Despars, a Hollywood, FL native, has explored different realms of styles in music from opera to musical theatre to jazz, tackling Bellini while also belting Kooman and Dimond. She has been a part of multiple choral ensembles at Jacksonville University, both in the traditional choral sound in the University Singers and even vocal jazz in the RiverTones ensemble. As a graduate, she is involved with other professional ensembles such as The Voices of Jacksonville and The Big Orange Chorus. She also occasionally performs with the Women's Ensemble of Christ Church Episcopal in Ponte Vedra, Jacksonville. Recently, she could be seen in New York City performing "Rejoice in the Lamb" as the soprano soloist with the Jacksonville University Singers, or in her most recent recital, given for winning the Virginia Louise McClure Award in Music. Finally, she is the tenor of On Point, a barbershop quartet, where she performs with her fiance, Daniel Pesante, and her two good friends Timothy Keatley and Alex Burney.
